Have you noticed anything new in Murroe lately?
The last few years have seen exciting developments in our village. These include our new playground, our hosting the Special Olympics pitch and putt competition, a Community Website, the revival of the Mary from Murroe Festival, new footpaths to Ros Fearna, the Spring ‘Expo’ festival and visits from Bill Cullen, President Mary McAleese and JP McManus.
So how have all of these come about?
Murroe Community Council is the organising force behind these and other initiatives. Murroe Community Council Ltd. is a voluntary body of elected representatives working on behalf of the community to provide better facilities and amenities for all. We work to promote the common good of the people, regardless of class, political or religious distinction.
Who is on the Community Council?
Community Council representatives are nominated for each electoral area in the district. At present, the following are the representatives on the Council. Nominations to represent these areas will be sought later in the year and further details on this process will be posted in due course.
